…an aspiring musician heard of how X Series Cassette Company (name changed) promoted new hidden talent, went to their office in Noida with his Demo CD of 2 songs. The person just next to the owner agreed to meet him (courtesy some friend). Before he could even begin to talk about his music he got the reply, “Look sir if you think we’ll listen to your CD and promote you, then let me tell you there are 800 more CDs rotting in my rack. I can put your too in the pile. Gone are the days of our previous owner. Now we are not for charity. If you are famous, if we think music stores will be willing to keep your music, YOU will record all songs yourself and give us for production and we’ll provide you with the company Label. Euphoria took 10 years to gain name, how can you think of making it big overnight.”
The guy was shaken. The words were partly true but the reality was ugly. But he took up the challenge on doing it alone without a label initially. Lack of knowledge, experience, training and finance were staring hard on the face…
Come 2008. The album is slated to release on 27th January 2008 without a music company/external studio being involved.
Can we do it without a label? Only time will tell.
